This is a fantastically comfy lounge chair, perfect for chilling out to watch telly or read a book. The curves on the Perspex are wonderful, making this a real eye-catching piece.

We recently re-upholstered the cushion with this funky retro chenille fabric. The chair also comes with detachable matching armrest cushions.

The chair is in a good overall condition. As expected with a chair of this age, there are a few scratches to the Perspex; though, this does not detract from its attractiveness.

Rare Set Of Three 1960s/70s Chrome And Wickerwork Chairs With Original Silk Velvet Fabric By ‘Pieff’

Made by ‘Pieff’, the chairs have curvaceous flowing lines, which accentuate the unusual combination of chrome and wickerwork.

They are a rare find, as they still have the original Pieff grey silk fabric cushions, which make the seats sumptuously comfy to sit on.

They are in very good condition and would suit many areas in the home, including the conservatory, living room or bedroom.

The Pieff furniture company is a well-renowned, family-run business which operated during the 1960s, 70s and 80s. Based in Lye, in the Black Country area of the west Midlands, Mr Bates ran the company with his two sons, both designing and making modern timepieces which still look great today.

Plywood Chair, Designed by Charles and Ray Eames - Manufactured by Vitra

The Plywood Chair, originally designed by Charles and Ray Eames during 1945-46, is a classic example of the Eames plywood design talent.

Their love affair with ply began in their apartment on Strathmore Avenue in Los Angeles, where they turned their spare bedroom into a workshop and kitted it out with a home-made molding machine, nicknamed 'Kazam!', due to its almost magic ability to turn wood and glue into a plywood molded shape.

Interestingly, their first mass-produced plywood product was not an item of furniture, but in fact a leg splint designed for the US army. The profits from this allowed them to obtain a proper workshop and go on to design and make the first Plywood Chair.

In Europe, Vitra (the European arm of Herman Miller) still produce this wonderful chair today. We are lucky enough to have a few in stock, which are retailing for £600 each.
